Xiaomi has announced a 200MP main camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto is said to use a large 1/1.56-inch sensor, with an even larger sensor for the main unit. That is more ambitious than simply increasing one camera’s resolution.

Megapixels alone do not decide image quality. Optics, stabilisation, HDR processing, shutter response and software all matter. Claims of a 17–75mm range and 3.2x optical zoom should remain labelled as pre-launch information until Xiaomi publishes the final camera sheet.

Xiaomi has not confirmed a European launch. EEC records contain model numbers linked by reporters to Xiaomi 18 and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, which is a meaningful signal of preparations outside China. A certification does not reveal a retail name, price, countries or launch date.

The careful conclusion is that an international version of at least one higher-end model is possible, not guaranteed. If you need a phone sold locally now, a China-only announcement is not a reason to postpone a purchase indefinitely.
