Galaxy S27 could add a Pro model and a 5,700mAh battery. What do we actually know?

Samsung has not announced the Galaxy S27 series, but there are now several credible signs that four phones are in development. The newest surfaced on 18 September: a Chinese 3C certification, reported by SammyGuru, points to cells that would normally be marketed as 5,200mAh in the Galaxy S27 Pro and 5,700mAh in the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
This is not a finished specification. The commercial names are being matched to device and battery numbers, while Samsung has confirmed neither the line-up nor its prices or release date. The useful job now is to separate database records and corroborated reporting from rumours that already contradict one another.
We will update this article at the same address through launch. Everything below reflects what was knowable on 18 September 2026; an unofficial CAD render or a leaker’s post is never treated as a Samsung announcement.

What about Samsung Galaxy S27 is actually confirmed?
Officially, very little. Samsung has no S27 product page and has not announced a Galaxy Unpacked event for the range. There is no confirmed UK or European price, pre-order date or retail release date.
There are, however, records generated while devices are prepared for market. SammyGuru tracked four global model numbers: SM-S952B, SM-S956B, SM-S957B and SM-S958B. A database number is a concrete clue, but the retail name attached to it can still change.
| Claim | Status on 18 Sep 2026 | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Four variants: S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra | Strong leak | Four numbers and the Pro name appear in industry records; Samsung has not confirmed the family. |
| 5,200mAh Pro and 5,700mAh Ultra | Regulatory clue | Typical values are inferred from rated capacities in a 3C battery report. |
| Early-2027 launch | Forecast | It follows the Galaxy S cycle, but it is not an announced date. |
| Cameras, processors and displays | Unconfirmed | Detailed reports exist, yet some directly conflict. |
When could Samsung Galaxy S27 be released?
The most plausible window is late January or early February 2027, based on Samsung’s established Galaxy S rhythm. As of 18 September, the company has announced no event date, pre-order period or country schedule.
GSMA database entries and early certifications show that development is moving forward, not that launch is imminent. One device tracker still labels S27 as an early-signal product roughly five or six months away. Treat exact dates circulating on social media as forecasts until Samsung sends Unpacked invitations.
Will there really be four models, including Galaxy S27 Pro?
This is one of the better-supported reports. Four model numbers point to four devices, and an identifier associated with S27 Pro also appeared alongside a battery in India’s BIS database. That is stronger than a lone anonymous post, although still short of an official line-up.
| Expected model | Possible role | What remains unknown |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S27 | Compact base flagship | Price, storage, cameras and battery |
| Galaxy S27+ | Larger screen and battery below Ultra | Whether Plus remains in every region |
| Galaxy S27 Pro | Smaller phone with selected Ultra features | Cameras, Privacy Display and position in the range |
| Galaxy S27 Ultra | Largest flagship with S Pen | Telephoto layout, European chip and final dimensions |
The Pro is the interesting one. Reports describe a roughly 6.47-inch phone carrying some Ultra-grade hardware in a smaller body. If true, it would need more than a new name to distinguish it from Plus. Samsung has not explained that distinction.
How much could Samsung Galaxy S27 cost?
There is no dependable price list for any S27 model. Figures published this early are projections based on the previous generation, not Samsung pricing. The rumoured Pro makes simple comparisons particularly unreliable: it could slot between Plus and Ultra or replace an existing tier.
Final local prices will also depend on storage, tax, exchange rates and launch promotions. Set a budget and prioritise size, camera, S Pen or battery life now; compare actual prices only when Samsung publishes the local offer.
What do we know about Galaxy S27 batteries and charging?
The strongest new evidence concerns batteries. The 3C report lists a cell associated with S27 Ultra at 5,534mAh rated capacity, normally expressed as about 5,700mAh typical capacity. S27 Pro is linked to 5,087mAh rated and roughly 5,200mAh typical.
The regulator entry supports the cell numbers, while the link to final retail names still relies on component numbering. Battery size alone also cannot predict endurance without the display, processor and software.
Will S27 Pro and Ultra support 60W charging?
An earlier 3C report linked both premium models to wired charging up to 60W, with 25W and 45W mentioned for the lower variants. There is no official Samsung table yet. Even if 60W is correct, the phone, charger and cable must share the right protocol; a large wattage printed on an adapter is not enough.
How could the Galaxy S27 cameras change?
Camera information comes from several reports rather than one coherent specification. The S27 and S27+ are linked to a 50MP Sony main sensor, which would mark a shift from Samsung ISOCELL sensors used in this part of the range. Pro and Ultra are also tipped for a 50MP ultrawide and a square 16MP front sensor that could allow portrait and landscape framing without rotating the phone.
The Ultra telephoto is the biggest unknown
One wave of reports described a large 50MP sensor with 4x optics. A later report contradicted it, suggesting a 5x periscope with a 1/2.52-inch sensor might remain while the separate 3x camera disappears. Both cannot be true, which is why a “complete S27 Ultra specification” would be misleading today.
Exynos 2700 or Snapdragon: what might Europe receive?
Leaks point to another regional split, but sources disagree on the devices involved. A report based on a chip die image attributes a ten-core CPU, Xclipse 970 graphics and a larger AI NPU to Exynos 2700. A certification tracker expects Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 across the series while also recording Exynos 2700 for some Pro variants.
None of that identifies the final chip for a UK or EU handset. Benchmark screenshots without a verifiable device, software build and power profile are equally poor buying evidence. Samsung’s software direction is clearer; our guide to One UI 9 and Android 17 explains the current platform, but S27 features may still change before launch.
What do reports say about the screens and design?
SamMobile links S27 Pro and Ultra to newer M16 OLED panels with better efficiency, brightness and durability, plus COE and Privacy Display technology. Base S27 and S27+ are associated with M14 panels. Samsung has not confirmed those allocations.
Unofficial CAD renders show a conservative base model and a more heavily redesigned Ultra rear. Such files may reflect prototype dimensions, but finish, colour and details can change. That matters for accessories: a shifted microphone or a fractionally larger camera island can make an S26 case incompatible. CRONG will not promise case or screen-protector compatibility from leaked renders.
Is Galaxy S27 worth waiting for?
If you need a phone now, the current rumours are not a good reason to postpone a purchase for months. Waiting makes sense when your current handset works well and you specifically want the possible smaller Pro or a larger Ultra battery.
For example, an S23 Ultra owner who still finishes the day with battery to spare can comfortably wait for Unpacked. Someone relying on a phone with a cracked display or random shutdowns should not organise work around an unconfirmed 5,700mAh figure.
Once final dimensions are public, we will also update case, screen protector and charger compatibility rather than guessing from CAD imagery.
- Samsung has not announced Galaxy S27, its launch date or prices.
- Four model numbers support a possible S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra line-up.
- Regulatory data points to roughly 5,200mAh for Pro and 5,700mAh for Ultra, but retail names remain unofficial.
- Camera, processor and display reports are detailed but partly contradictory.
- Wait for Unpacked before treating prices, specifications or accessory compatibility as final.
The honest conclusion: the range looks increasingly real, but today we know its likely direction, not a finished product sheet.
FAQ — Samsung Galaxy S27
Is Samsung Galaxy S27 official?
